New Virtus.Pro Coach: Ivan “ArtStyle” Antonov

New Virtus.Pro Coach: Ivan “ArtStyle” Antonov

Virtus.Pro, one of the powerhouse teams from last year’s The International and Dota Pro Circuit, revamped its roster and organization since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The team prepares for the next set of major matches that will make up for the cancelled international tournaments this year.

One of the faces representing the new Virtus.Pro is Ivan “ArtStyle” Antonov, the new coach of the team. ArtStyle replaces former coach Anatoly “boo1k” Ivanov who left the team in March. Virtus.Pro has been playing online tournaments without an official coach for a while now. The team struggled in their early tournaments, but they defeated other powerhouse teams like OG Esports, Team Nigma, and Team Liquid in various tournaments in April onwards.

Welcoming ArtStyle to the team, Virtus.Pro’s general manager Sergey Glamazda said:
“Glad to welcome Ivan in our club…He already helped the team to reach an incredible level in the past and we are sure that his experience and understanding of the game will allow us to improve once again.”

The inclusion of ArtStyle to Virtus.Pro marks his second professional run with the team. After ArtStyle became one of the best players of the legendary team Natus Vincere, the winner of the first-ever The International, he became a coach. He previously coached Virtus.Pro between 2017 and 2018—during his best era as an esports coach and player. Under ArtStyle, the old Virtus.Pro was able to win major tournaments like ESL One Hamburg, Katowice, Birmingham, and the Bucharest Major. The team even placed fifth in The International 2017 and 2018.

ArtStyle joined CIS teams like Winstrike and EXTREMUM as a coach after his first stay at Virtus.Pro. For his comeback, fans can expect to see ArtStyle’s signature strategies as part of Virtus. Pro’s 2020 squad. The team is scheduled to participate in the Immortal division of Omega League: Europe, which will take place on August 14. Virtus.Pro will face other EU teams like Evil Geniuses, Alliance, and Natus Vincere.
